Description

Bernard Chang and Scott Koblish Marvel Team-Up #6 Spider-Man and Sub-Mariner Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1998). Spider-Man plummets into the icy depths of the sea, helplessly bound in chains, as he submerges beneath the waves on this detail-rich cover from Bernard Chang. Noticing Spidey's plight, Prince Namor, the Sub-Mariner, rushes through the water to reach the waterlogged web-head. At the start of the issue, Namor, who is severely disoriented following his return from the Heroes Reborn universe, has difficulty distinguishing between villains and allies and inadvertently joins a gang of criminals called the Wrecking Crew. This cover references the scene in the issue where Namor's morals and memories return to him, and he vows to save Spidey before he sinks even further below the surface. (We're sure Spidey would have appreciated the Sub-Mariner having that revelation before he was tied up in chains and chucked into the ocean!) Rendered in ink over graphite on Marvel cover stock Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15.5". With whiteout corrections, small stains, and smudging/handling wear. Signed by Chang and Koblish in the bottom right corner of the image area and in Excellent condition.
