Basil Wolverton Plop! Unpublished Cover Original Art (DC, 1974). Hey all you Plop! fans... here's something to make you plotz! It is an unused weirdo cover by Basil Wolverton! There are stamps on the reverse side that date this as going into DC's inventory on 10-30-74 (and re-inventoried on 10-30-76), as well as a copyright stamp dated 1977. The piece was finally officially written off on 11-30-77 with a stamp on the front side (just barely into the artwork). Knowing Wolverton's love of puns, this guy's name was likely something such as "Buster Gutz". Created nearly edge-to-edge in ink over graphite on 12.5" x 18.5" Bristol board. Signed in the image area. The toned board has a couple of staple holes in the top margin. In Very Good condition.
