DescriptionBarry Windsor-Smith Conan Illustration Original Art (undated). Barry Windsor-Smith became a fan-favorite early on in his career, and his popularity has not waned. This large piece has the detail and Windsor-Smith "touch" that shows why he is an artist's artist. Smith worked out the dynamics of the steely-sinewed Cimmerian in this detailed, blue pencil, marker, and ink illustration. In a case of "what might have been," the illustration was later surrounded with logo and type photostats to create a fantasy, or mock Conan Saga cover image. This evocative piece has an approximate image area of 14.5" x 18.5", and the piece has been framed to an overall size of 23" x 28", and aside from some slight marker color changes, the art is in Excellent condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.View More Testimonials
