Barry Smith Conan the Barbarian #7 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1971). With Lady Aztrias and her guard caught "In the Coils of the Man-Serpent," it's up to Conan to use his uncanny strength to free them from Set's man-headed monstrosity! Barry Smith's Conan art is the stuff of legend, and this piece -- one of the earliest from the series we've ever offered -- is easily among the most action-packed. Even at this early stage, it shows the beginnings of the stylistic evolution that would later define his celebrated "BWS" era.The cover was rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an overall image area of 10" x 15". The corner box, issue/price, and cover text are all stat paste-ups, with some of the corner box elements affixed using tape. Whiteout, editor's marks, toning, small stains, pinholes at the top left, and general handling wear. Signed by Barry Smith just beneath the corner box. In Very Good condition.
