DescriptionAntonio Prohias Spy vs. Spy Conceptual Cover Drawing Original Art (Signet Books, c. 1965). Antonio Prohias fled the Cuban censorship purges in 1960 and created Spy vs. Spy for MAD Magazine. Anthologies followed, starting with The All-New MAD Secret File on Spy vs. Spy in 1965. This marvelous conceptual drawing finds Prohias in rehearsing for the paperback edition, pitting his rival agents in a struggle over a mysterious suitcase. The byline is also a signature, with Prohias' trademark addition of Morse Code icons beneath each corresponding letter. Blank tab at upper center is for insertion of the MAD logo. Graphite on Illustration board. Image area, 11.25" x 17.5". General tanning.
