Description

Angelo Torres - Original Cover Art for The Mad Make-Out Book (Warner Books, 1979). Angelo Torres began his career in comics as an assistant to Al Williamson on such classic EC titles as Valor. Best known for his work on Mad Magazine, Torres' slick, illustrative style has been favorably compared to Frank Frazetta, Williamson and Roy Krenkel. This piece, measuring approximately 10" x 14" with an image area of approximately 8" x 8.5", is a beautiful example of Torres' work and is signed by the artist in the lower left corner. At the bottom of the piece, there is the notation, "Fine!" along with a signature and a date of 3-6-78. In excellent condition, this is a prime piece from one of Mad's greatest artist. Torres' work rarely comes up for sale, making this an even rarer opportunity.
