Description
André Chéret Rahan Couverture (Vaillant, 1984). Rahan apparait dès le premier numéro de Pif, le 3 mars 1969. Créé par Roger Lecureux et André Chéret, le fils des âges farouches devient immédiatement le personnage favori des lecteurs. Ses aventures sont, depuis, rentrées dans la légende de la bande dessinée européenne. Si Chéret excellait dans l'art de dynamiser (dynamiter ?) ses planches, que dire de sa maitrise de l'illustration, comme ici, pour cette superbe encre de Chine et aquarelle sur papier (23 x 25 cm) destinée à la couverture du tome 8 de l'Intégrale Rahan éditée par Vaillant. Created by Roger Lecureux and André Chéret, the son of the savage ages immediately became the readers' favourite character. His adventures have since become part of the legend of European comics. If Chéret excelled in the art of dynamising (dynamiting?) his pages, what should be said about his mastery of illustration, as here, for this beautiful work in Chinese ink and watercolor intended for the cover of Volume 8 of the Intégrale Rahan published by Vaillant. The image area measures 9" x 9", and is in Excellent condition.
