Alex Ross The Torch #1 Variant Cover Original Art (Marvel, 2009). Alex Ross is a master of creating unreal images that feel like they could exist in the real world. In this three-panel cover image, Ross shows what it would look like if a man could literally ignite into flames! This hyper-realistic painting was created for the Dynamic Forces variant of the premiere issue of the series featuring the original Human Torch, Jim Hammond. Gouache on Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 18.25", matted and glass-front framed to 20" x 26.25".
