DescriptionAlex Ross - Spider-Man Concept Painting Original Art (2001). Uber-painted Alex Ross created this alternate version of Spider-Man's outfit as a possible costume design for the 2002 "Spider-Man" feature film. Ross has said in a recent interview that the mostly-black appearance of the costume was a way to hide the soot and grime that Spidey would inevitably pick up while crawling across buildings all over New York City! This fully finished painting depicting Spider-Man in action was intended to be used as a poster design (hence the "2001" date). Painted on thick illustration board, this measures 11" x 17" and is in excellent condition. It is signed by Ross in the lower right corner.
