Alex Horley Conan #2 Cover Painting Original Art (Marvel/Panini, 1997). Conan the Barbarian's mighty mace makes mincemeat of a zombie warrior's face to save a beautiful woman -- just another day for the Cimmerian! This powerful image was rendered as the European cover to an issue of Marvel's mid-'90s Conan relaunch, in a style that masterfully merges the hyper-muscular, painterly intensity of Frank Frazetta with the chaotic energy of Simon Bisley. Mixed media on Bristol board with an image area of 9" x 14", mounted to a support board for an overall size of 11.75" x 16.5".
