Description
Al Feldstein Weird Science #11 Cover Original Art (EC, 1952). An explosion over the moon! As one cigar-shaped rocket whizzes close by, another is torn apart by a blast that sends crewmen flying out into space over the rocky, crater-filled surface of Earth's closest celestial neighbor, in this breath-taking cover by Al Feldstein. What kid, in 1952, with a dime to spend, could pass by a comic book stand without picking up a copy? Wow! If an EC Sci-Fi cover has been the stuff of your dreams, consider your wish granted! This magnificent cover art is drawn in ink over graphite on Bristol board with pre-printed blue guide lines and the original EC production photostat masthead (see how the issue number and month information was carefully added by hand). The image area measures approximately 13.5" x 19.25", and the art remains in Excellent condition, other than some slight toning around the stats and minor glue staining along the "Incredible Science-Fiction Stories" snipe stat. It's been close to twelve years since we last saw this iconic piece of art come up for sale, and it could well be much longer before it comes back around, so don't this chance of having one of the "best of the best" EC covers in your collection!More information about Al Feldstein.
