DescriptionAl Avison (attributed) Witches Tales #9 Cover Original Art (Harvey, 1952). A particularly frenetic cover, with a damsel in distress motif, this twice-up scale cover is a horror fan's delight! This memorable image of a Chinatown gone wrong is produced in ink over graphite and the image area almost fills the entire 13.5" x 21.5" Bristol board. All of the text in the header (including the logo) is stat paste-ups, some of which are modern replacements. The cover text in the smoke is hand-lettered with one cut-and-taped-in text correction. There are pinholes and light tanning; however, otherwise this piece is in Very Good condition.
