Description
Val Mayerik and Vince Colletta Creatures on the Loose #23 Complete 15-Page Thongor Story Original Art (Marvel, 1973). This was the second comic book appearance of Thongor, and one of the earliest Marvel stories drawn by Mayerik. Created by sci-fi/fantasy author Lin Carter, Thongor of Lemuria debuted in paperback form during the 1960s, in a series of tales that combined elements of Robert E. Howard's Conan and Edgar Rice Burroughs' John Carter. This pulpy story has Thongor fighting a demon, escaping a dungeon, and encountering a cosmic entity. Ink and Zipatone over graphite, each page has an image area of 10" x 15". Discolored tape/adhesive residue to the edges of each, and some instances of soiling, glue residue, toning, and mild wear.
