Skip Williamson Comix Book #1 Complete 3-Page Story Original Art (Marvel Comics/Curtis Publishing, 1974). From a famous experimental semi-Underground Comix title developed by mainstream comics' Stan Lee and Underground publisher Denis Kitchen. This seminal Williamson piece re-imagines his signature character, Snappy Sammy Smoot, as a vainly motivated superhero in "Super Sammy Smoot Battles to the Death with the Irrational Shithead." By "to the death," Williamson means the utter destruction of the known universe -- all except for Sammy Smoot and his tireless antagonist. For Williamson, slapstick humor and embittered editorial commentary are inseparable. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 11" x 16" per page. Light toning. Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
