Description

Sheldon Moldoff (as Bob Kane) Batman #144 Complete 8-Page Story Original Art (DC, 1961). Batman story pages by Moldoff that are this old are very hard to come by, and this is a complete story! The Joker becomes "The Man Who Played Batman" in this eight-pager. (In just five short years, Adam West would be the man who played Batman.) This story has a working scale Dutch windmill, a giant innertube, a giant ice cream cone, a giant diamond, a giant wedding ring, and a giant clock pendulum! Batman never saw a giant prop he didn't want to crawl on top of. The twice-up scale pages were rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13" x 19" (including the stat paste-up banner). Page 1 is personalized to Joseph Levy at DC in the lower center of the image area. The boards are toned. Page 1 is more toned, and also is missing the top right corner. It is in Fair condition. The remaining seven pages are in Very Good condition.
