Description

Robert Webb and Iger Studio Bruce Gentry Comics Unpublished 9-Page Story "Resist at Your Own Risk!" Original Art (Superior, 1949). Deriving from Ray Bailey's popular aviation comic strip of the same name, the Iger Studio's comic-book equivalent of Bruce Gentry lasted for seven issues (formally numbered as #2-#8). An intended Issue #9 was largely completed, but the series' abrupt cancellation left the contents orphaned. This tale presents the heroic title character against a Zorro-like bandit known as the Nighthawk. Ink over graphite on Bristol board, with a uniform image area of 12.5" x 18.5". The age-toned boards show handling wear and scattered white-paint retouching. Overall in Very Good condition.
