Description
Robert Crumb Zap Comix #0 Complete 1-Page Story "Kosmik Kapers" Original Art (Apex Novelties, 1968). An Underground Comix classic, created when Crumb was still unknown to a mass audience. Intended for Zap Comix #1, the art and its companion pages had been stolen by a would-be publisher, cornering Crumb to generate other pieces for what would become issue #1. When copies of the stolen art turned up, they were published as Zap #0. Finally, the primary-source art was returned, in a surreptitious manner. Crumb never got the chance to reclaim the art, as a consequence of legal manipulations. The image area of the art is 7.5" x 10", it is ink over graphite on Bristol. Page is toned.
