Description

Robert Crumb San Francisco Comic Book #3 Complete 3-Page Story Original Art (San Francisco Comic Book Co., 1970). Crumb does not suffer fools gladly. He makes this condition plain in three pages of imaginary autobiography: A fatuous talk-show host attempts to analyze the psychosexual subcurrents in the artist's Underground Comix stories. At once a fantasy and a reflection of reality, the story reflects a distinct narrative influence from MAD Magazine creator Harvey Kurtzman while remaining as personal a statement-of-self as Crumb ever has delivered. A seminal Underground work. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. The image areas measure 9" x 13", each framed separately at 16" x 20". Light toning. Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
