Robert Crumb Bijou Funnies #4 Complete 1-Page Story Original Art (Print Mint, 1970). Entitled "Joey Tissue and the Dummies," this first appeared in Jay Lynch's Bijou Funnies in 1970. It was drawn in 1967, and was originally intended for Zap Comix #1. It's a surreal, goofy piece, "hosted" by slick Joey Tissue and his lovely assistant, Barby. The two "dummies" look like young versions of Av and Gar, or Simp and Gimp, with long extended noses. This page is included in the 2004 German hardcover museum gallery book Yeah, But Is It Art?; if you're in the market for choice early Crumb, this is for you! The art is in ink on paper or thin board, with an image area of 7.5" x 10", matted and framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 15.5" x 18". The top panels show some staining (as is also apparently the case with a number of the other originals intended for Zap #1 that were at one time in the possession of famed Yarrowstalks editor Brian Zahn), and there is light handling wear; Very Good condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
