Kurt Schaffenberger Classics Illustrated #119 "Soldiers of Fortune" Complete 45-Page Story Original Art (Gilberton, 1954). Kurt Schaffenberger already had a pile of credits to his name from his incredible Golden Age work on Captain Marvel, Bulletman, Ibis, and other characters, by the time he came to illustrate this gorgeous issue of Classics Illustrated. Schaffenberger's clean and elegant lines are readily apparent. It's easy to see how he ended up illustrating the adventures of Superman's Girlfriend, Lois Lane. He was perfectly suited to the job. These pages are ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 18". The pages are lightly tanned, with minor handling wear. The text correction paste-ups have discolored, as have a couple of text stats. Overall these pages are in Excellent condition. A great find for Schaffenberger fans!
