    Description

John Severin Mad #3 Complete 7-Page Story "Sheik of Araby!" Original Art (EC, 1953). From the French Foreign Legion Dept.: Collectors of "Infinity Covers" might be interested in Panel 1 of this wacky tale, as the soldier is reading this self-same story! It was created with a stat paste-up. Harvey Kurtzman and John Severin lampoon their own brand of action-adventure in Two-Fisted Tales, as well as the legendary Foreign Legion films Beau Geste and Gunga Din. "The Sheik of Araby" was a popular song that was written in 1921, and it was composed in response to the popularity of the Rudolph Valentino film The Sheik. The story pages were produced twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Duotone board with an image area of 13" x 18". Signed by Severin in the upper left of Panel 1. The toned pages are in Very Good condition.
