Jim Aparo Brave and the Bold #141 Complete 17-Page Story "Pay -- or Die!" Joker and Black Canary Original Art (DC, 1978). Jim Aparo defined the look for Batman and the Joker for most of the Bronze Age and is considered by many fans to be one of the Top 3 Bat-Artists of all time. Black Canary teams up with the Dark Knight to deliver a punchline to the Clown Prince of Crime in this 17-page tale. The pages were rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The logos on Page 1 are stat paste-ups. The Batman and Black Canary in the header were original art; however, Batman has been trimmed out (no doubt to use in a future episode as a paste-up). The indicia on that page is stat paste-up as well. Several other pages have stripped-in text corrections taped in from the reverse. All pages have production tape residue in the margins. Page 1 is in Very Good condition, and the rest are in Excellent condition.Auction Info
