    Description

Jeff Jordan Changes Complete 8-Page Story in Printing Layout Form Group of 2 Original Art (San Francisco Comic Book Company, 1972). Jordan, one of the finer surrealist painters of the present day, created this self-contained booklet while absorbing the influence of the Underground Comix movement. A lovely use of detailed crosshatching, here. The cryptic narrative reflects the artist's persistent interest in what he calls "the Native American view of life... Take what you need, but use what you take." Though assembled in two large-scale pieces, the set consists in fact of eight pages, all grouped and stapled into a format to accommodate printing and folding, as an "Off the Cuff" mini-comic. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 11.25" x 15.25". Faint toning. Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
