    Description

Jack Jackson (as Jaxon) Skull #3 Complete 5-Page Story Original Art (Last Gasp, 1971). Jaxon spoofs Marvel's version of Robert E. Howard's Conan the Barbarian in this rip-snorting tale of a royal wedding ceremony and its violent outcome. The classic-style shaggy-dog yarn resolves itself in a jarringly absurd punchline. The greater point is Jaxon's brilliant use of vivid line-work (modeled after the style of EC Comics' John Severin), enhanced by multiple layers of Zipatone shading in a variety of textures. Ink and shading film over graphite, on lightweight Bristol board. Image area, 10" x 15.5". Light toning and marginal push-pin punctures. Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
