Description

Hi Mankin Pete Millar's Drag Cartoons Complete 1-Page Story "Status Seekers" Original Art (Millar, c. 1960s). Veteran cartoonist Hi Mankin went to work for Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel while still only a youngster of 15. He stayed with Siegel's family and attended Cleveland High School all day while trying to ink Superman stories at night. The pressures of life in a strange city, high school, and work all at the same time, plus the resentment of the other artists in the Shuster studio caused him to quit after only one month. Mankin drew Johnny Quick and Gangbusters for DC, Crimebuster and Daredevil for Lev Gleason, the Roy Rogers comic strip, and later went on to a career in animation (including Johnny Quest). This page has an image area of 12" x 17". There are some production notes in the lower margin; otherwise, this page is in Excellent condition.
