    Description

George Woodbridge MAD Magazine #34 Complete 2-Page Story Original Art (EC, 1957). From the Seeing Is Believing Dept.: This two-page feature was titled "MAD's Picture-Phone Backdrops" and with the paste-up word balloons, the humor is self-explanatory. This is from just three years after the 1954 Senate Subcommittee on Juvenile Delinquency hearings in Washington, D.C. that substantially changed the comic book industry and caused the creation of the Comics Code Authority. MAD escaped their oversight by going to a magazine format, which they did not oversee. These two pages are produced in ink over graphite on Craftint board with an image area of 16" x 15" and 16" x 22.5". There is a slight discoloration from the aging of the Craftint, and pinholes in the top corners, otherwise these pages are in Excellent condition.
