Fred Meagher Straight Arrow #55 Complete 6-Page Story Original Art (Magazine Enterprises, 1956). The Native American hero, Straight Arrow, struggles to prevent warfare between the Kiowas and settlers of the Western frontier. A beautifully illustrated tale, composed with cinematic urgency by one of the more emphatic Golden Age artists -- working from a script by the prolific Gardner Fox, best known for his superhero tales. Come to think of it, Straight Arrow might be a superhero in his own right. Ink over graphite on Bristol board, with painted white highlights. Logotype is a photostat, pasted in place. Image area, 12.25" x 18.25". Moderate toning. Excellent condition. From the Ethan Roberts Estate Collection.
