Description

Frank Borth Cracked Magazine Complete 3-Page Story "A Cracked Look at Future Specialized Camps" Original Art (Globe Communications, 1990s). Borth transcends parody and shoots for razor-wire satire with this savage indictment of a trend away from traditional recreational camps -- and toward the cynical development of career-indoctrination rituals as a substitute. Forget swimming and hiking: These imaginary camps propose training for morticians, litigating lawyers, beauty-pageant phoneys, Mafia goons, and so forth. Borth (a first-generation comic-book artist, sneaking out of retirement while in his 70s) delivers a MAD caliber of visual wit for a prominent rival publication. The large-scale drawings comprise ink and chemical shading over graphite on Craftint board. Image area, 16" by 20". Lightly blurred shading. Some caption-boxes have loosened. Overall Very Good condition, withal.
