    Description

Doug Wildey Wyatt Earp #17 Complete 4-Page Story "A Badge To Fight For!" Original Art (Marvel, 1960). This Pecos Kid rascal must be one bad hombre, to make Sheriff Matt Andrews back down from a confrontation. The secret of their latent antagonisms will be revealed in short order (Hint: It's a twist on a favorite irony of editor Stan Lee). The proto-Marvel company may have been teetering on the edge of bankruptcy in those pre-superhero days, but it kept attracting top-notch artists like Wildey, who gives this one full measure of storytelling zest. Wildey, of course, was presently to break through with the Jonny Quest franchise. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12.5" x 18.5". Excellent condition, with scattered retouching and editorial notes.
