Dick Ayers and Ernie Bache Best of the West #7 (A-1 #76) The Ghost Rider Complete 8-Page Story Original Art (Magazine Enterprises, 1953). The spectral gunslinger takes on dark forces unleashed by an ancient book of black magic, delivering eerie action at the crossroads of six-guns and sorcery in this lead Ghost Rider story. First introduced in the late 1940s as Rex Fury, the Calico Kid, he was reimagined in 1949 as comics' first true horror-western hero, riding the wave of supernatural storytelling and carving out a place all his own. Twice-up scale in ink over graphite on sturdy illustration boards with image areas of 12.5" x 18". Toning, smudging, stat logo paste-up, minor adhesive residue staining, whiteout corrections, light moisture spot staining on the edges, minor corner bumps, and light edge/handling wear. Signed by Ayers in Panel 1. In Very Good condition.
