Alex Blum Classics Illustrated #92 "Evangeline" Complete 29-Page Story Original Art (Gilberton, 1952). This complete story adapts Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's epic poem "Evangeline: A Tale of Acadie", chronicling the heartbreak of Evangeline Bellefontaine, a young Acadian girl torn from her beloved Gabriel during the 18th-century expulsion of her people. Created in near twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol boards with image areas of 11.75" x 17.75". Pages 9-10 are a double page splash on illustration boards with a combined image area of 23.25" x 16.25". Light toning, staining, smudging/soiling, adhesive residue staining, edge tearing, whiteout corrections, stat logo paste-up, toned text correction and text paste-ups, stripped-in text corrections held by tape on the back, editorial notes/marks, art paste-ups, stripped-in art corrections, discolored text paste-ups, missing paste-up on final page, and corner/handling wear.
