Description

Al Williamson, Frank Frazetta, and Roy Krenkel Weird Science #19 Complete 7-Page Story "The One Who Waits" Original Art (EC, 1953). Three powerhouse talents of EC Comics team-up on these stunning pages! This perfect example of a horror story disguised as science-fiction is an adaptation of Ray Bradbury's 1949 short story of the same title. Every page has stripped-in elements and paste-ups, giving the impression that the original version was re-worked. This may explain the number of high-power artists who contributed on the final piece. It's not uncommon for a couple of these artists to work together, but all three on a single project is unusual. The pages are composed primarily in ink over graphite with some Zipatone. There are duotone sections, panels, and even one entire page. The hand-illustrated story title is a paste-up banner. Al Williamson signed in the lower right of Page 1. The boards are toned, with paste-ups and production tape in places. There is a minor rip on the right margin of Page 1. In Very Good condition.
