Description
Al Williamson and Frank Frazetta John Wayne Adventure Comics #8 Complete 12-Page Story Original Art (Toby Press, 1951). Hold on to your horses, pardner! This is a complete 12-page story about the Duke, as drawn by Al Williamson and inked by Frank Frazetta. Frazetta initialed next to Williamson's name on the splash page, and Williamson also signed page 12. We believe this to be the only complete John Wayne story by the artists, as all others we've seen or have heard of have long since been broken up -- as have many of the artists' EC collaborations -- so this is a rare opportunity, indeed. Williamson's pencils are as detailed as ever, and Frazetta's inks are noticeably heavy in some panels. A real treat from a bygone era. Image areas measure 12" x 18" on Bristol board. Overall yellowing and some production tape residue, but overall in Very Good condition.
