    Description

Wilson McCoy The Phantom Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 11-8-60 (King Features Syndicate, 1960). Lee Falk's jungle-dwelling superhero, the Phantom, yields center-stage to his wolf-dog, Devil -- who runs afoul of a royal hunting party in this suspenseful cliffhanger. An example of late-in-life brilliance from McCoy -- himself a jungle explorer, who worked his safari experiences into the stories. Ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of 20.75" x 6". Light toning, slight discoloration, and peeling in the Zipatone shading, with adhesive staining. Vertical crease at center for mailing/storage purposes. Very Good condition.
