Description

Walt Kelly Pogo Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 7-23-51 (Post-Hall Syndicate, Inc., 1951). Poor P. T. Bridgeport's astounding carnival animals can't compete with the real-life majesty of a forest raccoon! P. T. Bridgeport was undoubtedly one of Walt Kelly's most colorful characters, with his name serving as a clever nod to both P. T. Barnum and Kelly's hometown of Bridgeport, Connecticut -- where Barnum himself was also a notable resident. Produced in ink over blue pencil on Bristol board, with an image area of 16.25" x 4.5". Lightly toned, with small stains, pinholes, and handling wear. In Very Good condition.
