    Description

Wallace Carlson Mostly Malarky Sunday Comic Strip Original Art, dated 3-19-67 (Chicago Tribune Syndicate, 1967). Charlie Malarky could have given Dagwood Bumstead some lessons in how to be a bumbling goof. This slapstick gem finds Malarky cleaning out the birdcage with a vacuum cleaner -- and sucking up the bird in the process. Not to worry: There's a safe-and-sound ending, but not without a load of hilarious anxiety. Image area, 26" x 11.5". The ink-over-graphite art is in Very Good condition. The Bristol board page-stock shows light age-toning, with a stained photostatic logotype. From the Ray Edw Collection.
