Vaughn Shoemaker Wow! How Junior Has Grown!! Editorial Comics Panel Original Art (Chicago American, 1965). Double-Pulitzer Medalist Shoemaker (1938 and 1947) acknowledges the overpriced 1960s with a comparison between federal budgets of 1965 and the Coolidge Administration's 1920s. Shoemaker's longtime symbolic characters, Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Public (the small figures), are appropriately appalled.
