Description

Thomas "Tad" Dorgan - Al Smith-Themed Single Panel Gag Comic Strip Original Art (undated). The subject of Tad Dorgan's single panel gag is one Al Smith, who first ran for Governor of New York in 1918. The title of this cartoon is "The Democrats' Home" and given the subject matter, it's very likely a comment on Prohibition, one of the political hot topics of the day. Produced in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 14.5" x 12". Board is toned and irregularly trimmed. 5" long tear running vertically down the center of the board, repaired on the back with production tape. Wear and handling evident. In Good condition.
