Description
Sheldon Mayer Sugar and Spike Unpublished Daily Comic Strip Original Art (1982). In the early 1980s, DC Comics tried unsuccessfully to launch Sheldon Mayer's Sugar and Spike as a newspaper strip. Several sample strips were drawn up. This one was intended for the "6th Week" of launch. Mayer signed it in the last panel. It is titled "The Question". Ink and graphite on Bristol board with an image size of 15" x 4". Rough top and left edges with a Panel 3 correction paste-up. Smudging and staining with an abrasion on the top edge.
