    Description

Roger Armstrong Napoleon Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 7-19-53 (Mirror Enterprises Syndicate, 1953). Another great example of a character taking over another character's strip! Elby appeared in Clifford McBride's Pantomime Comic and his dog Napoleon proved so popular that Napoleon got his own strip before Elby did. Eventually the strip was renamed Napoleon and Uncle Elby, but the dog still got top billing. Roger Armstrong took over art duties after McBride's death in 1951. This strip is ink over blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 18" x 13.25". There is tanning, edge/corner wear, and minor stains in top left corner. It comes with both the hand-colored color guide and a printed copy of the published strip. The original artwork is in Excellent condition.
