    Description

Robert Crumb, Harvey Kurtzman, Gilbert Shelton, and More East Village Other "Come the Revolution" 2-Page Comic Strip Original Art (EVO, 1969). Improvised "jam" comic strips were big among the Underground Comix gang, appearing in every issue of Zap and other UG titles. The guys (and on occasion, the girls) would really cut loose and go crazy, bouncing off each other's work. Here's a marvelous jam that originally appeared in EVO V4#44, and in addition to the names listed above, there were contributions from Spain Rodriguez, Kim Deitch, Yossarian, Roger Brand, and Ralph Reese. On this one, each panel is drawn on a separate piece of Bristol board (using ink over blue pencil), with each artist doing at least one panel solo, and everyone joining in on the last panel of page two. The boards are held together by tape on the reverse sides. Image area for each combined page averages 13" x 18.25", with each page matted to an overall size of 17.75" x 24". There are a few scattered small stains (mostly on the second page), but no major problems; in general, Very Good condition.
