Ric Estrada (as Fred Kida) The Amazing Spider-Man Daily Comic Strip Original Art Group of 4 (Marvel Comics/Register & Tribune Syndicate, 1983). Kida has the byline, but Estrada is authoritatively cited (in his own handwriting) as ghost-artist on these gems from the long-running newspaper showcase for Marvel's most readily identifiable character. While sustaining the visual consistency that the feature would know under a procession of artists, Estrada brings a distinctive style to linked episodes depicting a siege by warriors from Atlantis. Spider-Man appears as civilian Peter Parker; the Sub-Mariner appears in full superhero regalia. A fourth installment, slightly later, finds Spider-Man confronting an accused criminal. The dates (all 1983) are 3-15, 3-18, 3-19, and 5-14. Each margin bears Estrada's imprimatur. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 10" x 15". Light toning and marginal staining. Very Good condition.
