Ray Gotto Ozark Ike's Whodunits Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 12-28-47 (King Features Syndicate, 1947). Ozark Ike McBatt served his daily comic strip primarily as a baseball player, but he reserved the right to play various other team sports in the Sunday spinoff. Here, Ike dramatizes a real-life gridiron upset from 1938, challenging the reader to name the historical player and the event. Hence the title Ozark Ike's Whodunits. Ike himself resembles a cross between Joe Palooka and Li'l Abner Yokum -- and all the better for that. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Conjoined tiers form an image area of 14" x 21". Light toning. Very Good condition.
