Description

Phil Davis Mandrake the Magician Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 7-17-38 (King Features Syndicate, 1938). On Lunatopia, the Moon City, the Master-Machines revolt is in full swing. Mandrake and Lothar save the day by helping the Moon people avoid the intrusion of the mechanical Frankensteins into the glass dome. Impeccable inking and line by Davis for one of Mandrake's best periods. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 14" x 21.5". Minor handling and small tear at right edge outside the image area, reinforced on back. Signed. In Excellent condition.
