Phil Berube Oh, Diana! Daily Comic Strip Original Art Group of 25 (AP Newsfeatures, c. late 1940s). Sports cartoonist Berube takes a different tack with Oh, Diana! -- a slapstick dip into the Archie-style pool of teenage and household humor. Brisk of line and even brisker of wit, these examples appear to date from the middle 1940s. Berube had inherited Oh, Diana! after creator Don Flowers left AP Newsfeatures for a new job at King Features. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board and the occasional sheet of two-ply bond paper, with image areas of 19.5" x 5.55". Mild toning, edge, and handling wear, and whiteout text corrections. The strip dated 12-13 is missing the last panel. Averaged in Excellent condition.
