Description

Pete Alvarado Donald Duck Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 7/30/89, Signed by Carl Barks (King Features Syndicate, 1989). Scrooge McDuck has an unusual way of treating his employee Donald, in this Sunday by longtime animator/comic book and newspaper strip artist, Pete Alvarado (1920 - 2003). With Uncle Scrooge in all but two panels, this was a perfect choice to be included in a number of original art newspaper strips, mostly dailies, that were pulled from the Disney Archives and brought to the home of the man who created Scrooge, Carl Barks. "Unca" Carl read each and every strip before adding his signature. The art for this piece is in ink over blue pencil on Bristol board, with an image area measuring 15.25" x 10.25". The art is in a specially created illustrated mat, and framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 26.25" x 21.75". The frame is sold as-is; a Disney COA is included on the back of the frame. With original Carl Barks Disney Ducks comic book art selling for huge sums (in the rare occasions any of it comes up for sale), this is a cool alternative for fans of The Good Duck Artist! Excellent condition.
