Milton Caniff Terry and the Pirates Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 4-3-39 (Chicago Tribune - N. Y. News Syndicate Inc., 1939). In 1946, Caniff left Terry and the Pirates to begin the wholly creator-owned Steve Canyon. Many still believe that Caniff's best work was on Terry, and it's hard to argue that position after seeing this masterful daily. Ink over graphite on Bristol board strip with an image area of 23" x 6.75". There is corner and edge wear, marginal pinholes,toning at the edges, and light soiling.
