Description

Manuel Gonzales Mickey Mouse Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 11-25-73 (Disney/King Features, 1973). Walt Disney claimed the byline, but other artists supplied the Mickey Mouse comic-strip art over the long haul, beginning in 1930. Floyd Gottfredson handled most of the dailies in his bright and rambunctious style, but it was Manuel Gonzales who created art for many of the Sundays, including this stellar example. Here, Mickey puts the macho moves on Minnie Mouse -- with disastrous results! Sidekick Goofy ( Dippy Dawg) makes a cameo appearance. Ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of 24" x 16". Lightly toned and in Excellent condition.
