Lank Leonard Hector Hicks Daily Comic Strip Original Art Undated (George Matthew Adams Syndicate, c. 1930s). Leonard launched his famous family-life strip, Mickey Finn, in 1936, after three years' work on the sports-cartoon feature represented by this energetic large-scale piece. Hector Hicks is a wrestling-ring counterpart to Ham Fisher's comic-strip prizefighter, Joe Palooka. Hector's manager, Baldy Bell, dominates this episode, in which a tough opponent makes an appearance. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 21" x 5.25". Pronounced age-toning and marginal staining. Good condition.
