Description
Ken Kling Joe and Asbestos Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 10-31 (Bell Syndicate, c. 1940s). A unique comic strip, Joe and Asbestos portrayed the horse-racing world, and each daily strip predicted the winner of a real-world race on that very day. An amazing rate of accuracy made the feature lucrative for its syndicate. The blank Panel 1 was reserved for the insertion of a logo. Also notable for the portrayal of an African-American character as a co-star. This Wednesday strip is only dated as 10-31, no year given. Ink over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board. The Image area measures 22.25" x 5.5". Slight toning, pinholes, spot staining, edge creasing smudging, and handing wear. In Very Good condition.More information about Ken Kling.
